| Demountable MCD The PSP MCD assembly is mounted directly on the detector flange of the analyzer, so that it can be removed without having to remove the analyzer itself from the vacuum system. This is a big improvement over the old VSW assembly.. PSP's demountable MCD assembly makes it easy for the user to service the MCD and to replace the channel plates without having to return the whole analyzer to the factory. The PSP MCD can be retrofitted to most of the VSW CLASS, HA100 and HA150 hemispherical analyzers. The unit is compatible with the popular SPECTRA data aquisition and processing software. The PSP MCD is offered as an upgrade package including the installation of the unit on your system by a PSP engineer. |
Electronics The
pre-amplification, discrimination and counting electronics are housed is a
single unit at the analyser detector feed-through flange. Digital data is
output to the host PC interface card. The interface card controls the scanning
and pass energy selection of the analyzer control unit.
The system has shown linearity in count rate in excess of 2 MHz. This means that fast scans with small dwell times and high count rates are possible. ( a significant improvement over the original VSW electronics )The gain of all 16 pre-amps can be individually set. The counting threshold is set with a variable potentiometer, and the setting can be monitored. The system is compatible with the SPECTRA software which is usually supplied with the upgrade. |
